• two 45-minute sessions separated by a tea break •
Sir C. V. Raman Auditorium, Department of Physics

Abstract This colloquium is aimed at giving a general flavor of how Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) is used in practice and what can be achieved if you do careful CFD. No prior knowledge of CFD is presumed on part of the audience.

The Speaker Dr. Vivek Ranade heads the Industrial Flow Modeling Group at the National Chemical Laboratory, Pune. His current interests include turbulent multiphase flows, chemical reactor engineering, industrial flow modeling, and CFD. He has received many acclaims for his contributions to these fields, including the 2004 Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize in Engineering Sciences, and the 2005 CHEMTECH Outstanding Contribution Award for Chemical Engineering.
