The Speaker Prof. Samir Kumar Das (Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics: Theoretical and Compuational Fluid Dynamics; 1988, IIT-KGP) is a professor at the International Institute of Information Technology (I2IT), Pune. After his Ph.D. and post-graduate diplomas in nonlinear mechanics and in ecology and environment, he worked briefly in ISI, Kolkata followed by a long stint at CWPRS, Pune. He later moved to Taiwan before coming back to Pune to join C-DAC and later International Institute of Information Technology (I2IT). His research interest is computational fluid dynamics. He has authored 35 publications in renowned journals and guided a couple of Ph.D. students. Prof. Das has also carried out several projects for Government of India. He is on editorial board of national and international journals and is regular referee for several journals.
