The Centre for Modeling and Simulation, Savitribai Phule Pune University,
was established in 2003 to promote
awareness about mathematical modeling and simulation methodologies, to
encourage highly multidisciplinary problem-centric approaches to basic
and applied research that transcend traditional boundaries separating
individual scientific disciplines, and to nurture (high-performance)
computing expertise on the University campus.

The Centre encourages applied cross-disciplinary research. Collectively, the Centre possesses expertise in the areas of mathematical physics, computational physics, materials modeling, complex systems, computational fluid dynamics, statistical data modeling and analysis, statistical science, scientific computing, and large-scale numerics. See this overview of research areas represented at the Centre. The research at the Centre is showcased at the Technical Reports Page.
Centre's core faculty, research staff, and technical staff are available for consultancy in their respective areas of expertise.
The Centre is currrently the formal host for the Science Park initiative by the University.
As potential employer for our students. The Centre is aware that the success of its academic programme depends on the placement record of its students. If you are in search for manpower trained in applied mathematics, applied statistics, scientific computing, modeling and simulation, we welcome your initiative, help, and support in our placement activities.
As internship project advisor for our students. A substantial, hands-on internship project is an integral part of all our academic programmes. Our students take up internships in academics or industry, depending on their interests and inclinations. We welcome your participation as a student project advisor.
As research collaborator. Whether you are in academics or in industry, we welcome proposals for collaborative research on topics of mutual interest.
As visiting/guest faculty. We welcome your participation as visiting/guest faculty in teaching specialized topics related to modeling and simulation.
As advisor in our on-going curriculum revision process. As an expert in your specialty that uses modeling, simulation and computation as a methodology, we welcome your participation in our on-going curriculum design and revision process.
