Association with CMS
M.Tech. Programme in Modeling and Simulation

Epoch of Association
2008 to 2010

Pre-CMS Education, Occupation, Field
B.E(Electronics &Telecommunication)

Post-CMS Education, Occupation, Field
Project Engineer at C-DAC for 5 years
Will join IBM as Sr. Software Developer at IBM from FEB 2016

Curricula and teaching programmes

CMS syllabus is very good, but I feel that it should focus on particular domain after first year, like we have at engineering where first-year syllabus is same for all and second year onwards they start domain/field specific syllabus. (*Please note that these four words are same: domain, field, application area, targeted area.)

Teachers

They are excellent, highly skilled and qualified.

Overall experience

For me CMS is better place than my graduation college as I learnt a lot at CMS.

Impact on career and growth

After 5 years of experience at C-DAC, Pune, I have developed expertise in the R language, unix scripting, high-performance computing, and mathematical modeling and simulation, which I learnt at CMS only.

Advice for current and future students

Students should decide their application area before their second semester itself; in fact, they should come with their application area before getting into the programme.

Which direction should CMS grow in?

CMS department at UoP is at the heart of many modelers like me. We wish and hope that CMS grows through every possible support from University of Pune.
