Applications are invited for one post of Senior Research Fellow to work at the Centre on fast-turnkey, highly-interdisciplinary research problems in the general area of computational and systems biology.
Duration of the Post • One Year.
Emoluments • As Per UGC Norms.
Eligibility and Necessary Qualification • Masters in Zoology or an allied field. Strong domain knowledge in the field of molecular and cell biology. Strong and proven expertise in computing, including but not limited to programming in C, Python, and R, bash shell-scripting, and numerical methods.
Preferred Qualification • Familiarity with probability theory (at the level of Elementary Probability by David Stirzacker). Any prior experience in computational biological research. Strong motivation and drive, resourcefulness, the ability to work in a responsible, disciplined, and organized manner, the ability to grasp new computing paradigms reasonably quickly, and the ability to follow instructions.

Selection • Candidates found suitable in a preliminary screening will be notified via email, and will be requested to appear for an interview (at their own expense) on January 12, 2007. No separate interview call letter will be sent. We expect the selected candidate to join by the third week of January 2007.
