SRF/RA Positions (DBT-Funded Research Project)

Applications are invited for one post of Senior Research Fellow (SRF) and one post of Research Associate (RA) to work on a highly-interdisciplinary DBT-funded research project in the area of biological sequence analysis and computational/systems biology.

Duration of the Posts

The total duration of this research project is 3 years (until February 2011). Initial appointments for both posts will be for one year, to be renewed for two more years (or till the end date of the project, whichever comes earlier) after due assessment of performance at the end of the ﬁrst year.

Emoluments

As per standard (UGC/CSIR) norms.

Eligibility and Necessary Qualification

SRF: Masters in Physics, any area of Biology, or Statistics. Strong and proven expertise in computing (such as, but not limited to: programming in C, Python, and R, numerical computing, simulation methods, etc.).
RA: Ph.D. in Physics, any area of Biology, or Statistics OR equivalent in terms of experience. Strong and proven expertise in computing (such as, but not limited to: programming in C, Python, and R, numerical computing, simulation methods, etc.). Proven experience and expertise in Linux system and network administration. Domain knowledge in the ﬁeld of molecular and cell biology.

Selection

Candidates found suitable in preliminary screening will be notified via email, and will be requested to appear for an interview at their own expense (date will be announced in the email). No separate interview call letter will be sent. The selected candidates are expected to join within one month of the date of the offer letter.
