JRF/SRF/RA Positions at the Centre

Applications are invited for the following posts at the Centre for Modeling and Simulation, Savitribai Phule Pune University:

Position	Number of Posts	Eligibility+Minimum Qualification
Research Associate (RA)	1 (Open category)	Ph. D. in Physics/Computer Science/Statistics or M. Phil with minimum 5 years of research experience. RA is supposed to interact with the industry and co-ordinate the Industry-Centre interaction activity and overall coordination of academic activities of the centre. He/She will also be responsible to help students with the placement activity. Some industrial experience is therefore desirable.
Senior Research Fellow (SRF)	2 (1-Open and 1-SC category)	M.Sc. in Physics/Computer Science/Statistics with minimum 5 years of research experience and some teaching experience or M. Phil with minimum 3 years of research experience. SRFs will have to co-ordinate the laboratory sessions for the students and help in maintaining the computing facilities at the Centre. Experience of programming, System Administration is therefore desirable.
Junior Research Fellow (JRF)	3 (2-Open and 1-SC category)	M.Sc. in Physics/Mathematics/Statistics/Chemistry with experience of programming.

Duration of Appointment

For all posts, till Sunday, 31 March 2013

Cover letter should emphasize the relevance of your background, qualification, training, and experience for the post of interest, especially with reference to the preferred qualification above.

Do not send documents/attachments in MS Word format. Please send PDF or PS documents to ensure complete portability and readability on Linux systems. An application is likely to be rejected if we cannot read/print it properly in a typical Linux environment.

Selection

Candidates found suitable in preliminary screening will be notified via email, and will be requested to appear for an interview at their own expense. No separate interview call letter will be sent. Selected candidates are expected to join within one week of the date of the offer letter.
