Abstract | Chi-Square is at the heart of several modeling problems that arise in science. The properties of the Chi-Square distribution are at the heart of our basic ability to define and measure confidence intervals. But a thorough and an intuitive understanding of these principles is seldom achieved in our journey to use these tools. In this talk, the speaker will try to bridge this gap by using simple simulations to illustrate these concepts. He will start with the basics of data modeling and naturally progress towards understanding chi-square and then using its properties for determining confidence intervals. |
