Title A 'universal' theory of elastoplasticity
Speaker Udayan Kanade, Oneirix Labs and Noumenon Multiphysics

Udayan Kanade has completed his MS in Computer Science with specialization in optimization and signal processing, from Stanford University. He is currently the CEO of two companies: Oneirix Labs and Noumenon Multiphysics. Oneirix Labs works on data science, algorithms and engineering to invent new technologies. Noumenon Multiphysics. works on developing advanced simulation techniques. His professional interests lies in signal processing and Computer Networks.
Date & Time Saturday, 08 September 2018 | 10:00-11:30
Venue Kelkar Lab, CMS, SPPU | Seating (60) available on first-come-first-served basis
Abstract There are two kinds of modeling techniques in this world: Physics-based techniques and data-driven techniques. In this talk, the speaker will argue that there is a useful and optimal way of combining these two to produce models that are accurate, yet computable. As an example of this philosophy, the speaker will present a new formulation of elastoplasticity theory, and discuss its implications in material mechanics, hydrodynamics, and more.
