Applications are invited for two Project Assistants (1 SC, 1 SEBC) funded by Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), at the Centre for Modeling and Simulation, Savitribai Phule Pune University. Appointment will be made as per availability of suitable candidates for the respective post.

• PA-1 (Data collection)
  • Eligibility & Necessary Qualification: M.Sc. (Geology or related) 1st class with research publication(s) or M.Sc. Dissertation. Preference will be given to students worked on Basalt.
  • Work Description: Extensive collection, classification and analysis of geological samples from deccan plateau. Student will report to Dr. R. Duraiswami (Dept of Geology) and Dr. B. Pujari (CMS).

• PA-2 (Modeling & Simulation)
  • Eligibility & Necessary Qualification: BE, BTech, MTech or MSc (preferably in Modeling & Simulation, Physics, Mechanical Engg, Chemical Engg.) with proven experience in computational fluid dynamical simulations. Exposure to machine learning is a plus.
  • Work Description: Performing computational fluid dynamical calculations (and if required, develop new methodologies) for hyper velocity impact simulations. The calculations may be based on Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics or FEM.

  • Up to 30 September 2021 (subjected to performance based on periodic 6 monthly evaluations by PI)

  Selection
  
  Candidates found suitable in preliminary screening will be notified via email, and will be requested to appear for an interview at their own expense. No separate interview call letter will be sent. Selected candidates are expected to join within one week of the date of the offer letter.
